Visionary Ventures: A Showcase of Innovative Business Ideas

The Department of Business Administration, SMVITM organised a one-day business plan presentation event, “Visionary Ventures,” as part of this First Semester MBA Course on Entrepreneurship Development (22MBA12) on 30th May 2024. This event provided students with the opportunity to present potential business ideas that could be transformed into real ventures, helping them to understand the intricacies of business planning.

Four teams participated in the competition:

1. Team Bright Smile: Presented a business plan for organic tooth powder.
2. Team Pawsibilities: Proposed advanced safety dog belts.
3. Team BioBottles: Introduced biodegradable bottles as a sustainable alternative to plastic to reduce pollution.
4. Team Aharr: Showcased sugar-free ladoos with multiple health benefits.

Team Aharr emerged as the winners of the competition, the team consisted of Sherli Mathias, Raksha Shetty, Siri Acharya, Pranaya Salian and Jayashree Kadlimatti. Team BioBottles securing the runner-up position. The judging panel included Dr. Suraj Francis Noronha, Director of the Department of Business Administration; Ms. Vidya Bhat, Administrative Officer; Dr. Abhaya Kumar Kepulaje, Associate Professor; and Ms. Prajwala Preema Rodrigues, Course Coordinator.

The event was anchored by Ms. Navya Ballal and Mr. Ronan Saldanha, and it was a resounding success with active participation from all students. Judges provided valuable feedback after each presentation, offering insights on how the students could improve their plans. The program boosted the students’ confidence and ignited their excitement about potentially realizing their business ideas in the future.
