VARNOTHSAVA’18 An Intercollegiate Techno‐Cultural Fest

The Inaugural function of Varnothsava’18 was held at SMVITM on 8th March 2018. Chief Guest of this function, Shri Shama Sundar, Co-founder and President of Pajaka Consultancy Services, Shri Ratnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET, Udupi and Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM graced the occasion. Shri Shama Sundar highlighted in his talk, the importance of techno cultural fest as stress reliever for the students from their routine academic activities. Shri Ratnakumar and Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat motivated the students to make the best use of the opportunity and actively participate in large numbers.

The audience were captivated by the mesmerizing performance of the contestants on Day 1 cultural events- Sur Ninad (Solo Singing Classical), Mile Sur Mera Tumhara (Duet Singing), Aa Dekhe Zara (Indian Solo Dance), Hum Se Badkar Kaun (Duet Dance), Aa Ja Nachle (Indian Group Dance), Swaranjali (Anthyakshari), Bannada Prapancha (Rangoli), Go Grey (Pencil Sketch), Say Click(Photography) and Kachra re (Best out of waste). Branch wise Technical events included Te-Presento, CAD IT and TURN IT for Mechanical Engineering and Te-Presento, CRACK C and WEBBED for Computer Science and Engineering. Apart from this, gaming events like NFS most wanted and bots on lanes were also held. Day1 of Varnothsava’18 found an active participation of 187 internal participants and 192 external participants from 10 different engineering colleges.

Day 2 included cultural events- Ninad (Instrumental Solo), Orchestra (Instrumental Group), Rock n Roll (Western Solo Dance), Rock it (Western group Dance), Vaividhyam (Variety Act), Jam It(Just a minute), Who am I (Face painting), Cut and Paste(Collage) and Nidhi (Treasure Hunt) and Various branch wise technical events- Te-Presento, Circuitrix and Matrix for Electronics and Communication Engineering and Te-Presento, Sarvekshan and Modula for Civil Engineering were conducted along with gaming event Minimilitia, in which nearly 200 internal participants and 100 external participants from 9 different engineering colleges participated enthusiastically.

On the whole, 2 days Varnothsava’18 was successful in providing a very good platform for about 387 internal participants and 292 external participants from 10 different engineering colleges to showcase their talents through active participation.
