A three-day Faculty Development Program was organized in Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal from 13 to 15 December 2017 with the objective of enhancing the teaching skills of the faculty members and giving them better insights into the different aspects of the teaching learning process, with special emphasis on technical education. The programme was inaugurated on 13th December 2017 by Dr. S. Krishnamurthy, Director Abhiyanam, Mangaluru. In his keynote address, he elucidated the vital role that a teacher plays in the life of a student. Shri Rathnakumar Secretary, SSVMET, Udupi presided over the function and appealed that for bribe free nation the contribution of the teacher is abundant. Prof. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM welcomed the gathering.

C.S Anand, Former Director, C-DOSS, Dharwad, Dr. Virupaksha Devarumane, Psychiatrist, Baliga Hospital, Udupi, Ms. Rashmi Bhandary, Head placement office, Sahyadri College of Engineering, Mangaluru, Inna Chandrakantha Rao Former CEO, Jindal films Delhi. and Mr. Devananda Upadhyaya, Retd. Senior General Manager, Syndicate Bank, Udupi took different sessions during FDP on various aspects of effective teaching. This FDP enabled lot of interactions through various activities held at different sessions and immensely motivated the SMVITM faculty members to enhance their teaching methodology.
