Eco Club and Community Club of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal in association with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), in connection with World Water Day organized a talk on “Role of Surface Water on Biodiversity” on 22 March 2019.
The program’s motto was to create awareness about the importance and conservation of surface water, and its role in preserving vast biodiversity of Udupi and South Canara District.
Dr. H. Lakshmikantha, Environmental Officer, KSPCB, Regional Office, Udupi, he spoke about the relationship and importance of biodiversity and water resources to each other and their role in the balance of environment. He signified the ways to conserve them and their depletion due to human greed. Addressing the audience he also spoke on a plethora of topics which were thought provoking towards conservation of the environment. HoDs, faculty members & Students of SMVITM were present during the session.
