Talk on ‘Basic Counselling skills for Teachers’

The Counselling Cell of SMVITM in association with ISTE faculty chapter had organized a talk on ‘Basic Counseling Skills’ for Teachers on 22/7/2014 in seminar hall.

Dr. P.V Bhandary, Director of A.V. Baliga Hospital, elaborated the basic skills required for a teacher to guide teenage students who lag in the academics due to various psychological factors. He threw lime light on the vital points why a student setback when he gets into professional college from a normal and quite easy going pre-university college life.

He said, teachers many a times can easily identify this and they can guide them to cope up with the challenging situations a student faces in engineering colleges.

He conducted few interesting and interactive activities too which gained a lot of positive response among the gathering. Mrs. Shashikala R introduced the resource person to the gathering.
