Swachh Bharath Abhiyan

The Community Orientation Club in association with NSS of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, as a part of the Kannada Rajyothsava celebration, carried out a cleanliness drive on 01^st November 2015, contributing to the national cleanliness drive, Swacch Bharath Abhiyan, launched by the Government of India.

The drive started from Manchakal bus stand and ended in front of SMVITM. The student volunteers of Community Orientation Club cleaned up the bus stand and surrounding areas during the drive. They also spread awareness about the importance of keeping the town clean, having healthy habits and road safety.

The program was inaugurated by, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, Director of SMVITM. Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal; Prof. Dr. A. Ganesha Dean (Academics) Mr. Nagaraja Rao and Mr .Kishorkumar Aroor and Mr. Narayan Nayak, faculties of SMVITM were present. More than 75 student volunteers participated in the drive.
