SMVITM Bantakal, organized UPSC session by IAS Jnani on 03 June 2025

The Training and Placement Cell and the Department of Basic Science, in collaboration with the ISTE Student Chapter of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized an inspiring UPSC awareness session on the theme “Awaken the Administrator Within” on 03 June 2025.

The session was conducted by Mr. Vinayaka N Petlae and Mr. Madhunandan P Rao, Founders and Directors of IAS Jnani, who are renowned for mentoring hundreds of civil service aspirants.

Mr. Vinayaka N Petlae opened the session with an insightful address on the pivotal role of civil services in nation-building. He elaborated on the power, prestige, and responsibility of being an IAS officer, sharing real-life stories of civil servants who have created meaningful impact in society.

Following this, Mr. Madhunandan P Rao offered practical guidance on starting UPSC preparation during college days. He provided an overview of the exam structure, preparation strategies, and the disciplined mindset required to succeed. He also walked students through model questions and emphasized the importance of newspapers, NCERT books, and consistent effort in preparation.

The session stood out for its interactive approach and inspiring anecdotes, which kept the students actively engaged. Many participants expressed a renewed interest in pursuing a career in public service.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Roshan S Kotian, Head – Training and Placement Cell, who appreciated the speakers for their valuable insights and thanked the Principal, Deans, HODs, and the first-year students for their enthusiastic participation and support.
