Annual Sports Meet 2017

The seventh Annual Sports Meet of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal was held on 11 February 2017.

Dr. K Prashanth Shetty M S, Commandant, Home Guards, Udupi was the chief guest at the inaugural function held in the morning. Inaugurating the event, Dr. K Prashanth Shetty said that “Healthy mind is in healthy body. Hence students must participate in sports activities together with their academics. The sport activities will help students to be disciplined and confident. In addition they also prevent diseases”. He also gave away prizes to the winners in the sports competitions held for the staff on the occasion.

Sri Ratnakumar, Secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), Udupi, presided over the inaugural function. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institute, Mr. Prashanth M.D., Assistant Physical Education Director, HODs of various departments, faculty and staff members were present during the function.

Mr. Avinash S, Sports Secretary of the Student Council administered the oath to the participants. Ms. Samanvitha Bhaghavath introduced the chief guest.  Ms. Audrey Jenitha Barboza proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Anusha Pai compered the program.

The inaugural  program was followed by different athletic meets organized by Physical education department, for the students. All the athletes participated sportively. The program came to a close by 5.30 pm.
