Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management had organized a session on “Performance of Engineering Institutions of Karnataka in the NIRF 2020 and overview of ranking methodology” on Saturday, 26 December 2020.
The Principal, Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, welcomed the resource person, Dr. Suresha S N and the participants to the session. During his welcome address, he described the need of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for higher education institutes.
The resource person, Dr. Suresha S N, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, NITK Surathkal, had explained the performance of the engineering colleges of Karnataka state in the NIRF 2020. He mentioned the parametric wise score of few institutions in Karnataka state. He highlighted the maximum and minimum score for each metric.
Dr. Suresha, had also briefed about the five parameters of NIRF ranking, Teaching Learning & Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Peer Perception (PP). He explained the evaluation matrix used in awarding scores for each of the above criterions. Also thrown light on the thrust areas, where the upcoming colleges may concentrate upon, to get NIRF ranking.
All participants were actively participated in the session and interacted with Dr. Suresha and clarified their queries.
Finally, Head, Training and Placement, Ms. Vidya Bhat, thanked Dr. Suresha and all the participants.
