Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, in association with RoboSapiens Technologies Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, organized a two-day workshop for its students on Robotics with Embedded-C at its campus on 12 & 13 September 2015.
Inaugurating the workshop, Principal of the institute, Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat told the participants that a student gets one fourth of the knowledge from the teachers; one fourth from one’s own intelligence; one fourth from peers and the remaining one fourth over the course of time. The last one fourth could be obtained by participating in various workshops, seminars, competitions and such activities that are routinely conducted in the institute during weekends and vacations and he urged them to make maximum use of such programs.
Mr. Ashish Kumar and Mr. Anurag Kumar from RoboSapiens Technologies, who were the resource persons for the workshop, were formally welcomed by Prof. Dr. Balachandra Achar, Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at SMVITM.
During the workshop, the participants received hands-on training in assembling and programming of line-following and edge-avoiding robots. At the end of the workshop there was a zonal level robotics competition, where the best five teams that would represent the institute at the next level of the competition to be held at IIT, Delhi in March 2016 were selected.
The program began with an invocation by Ms. Sushmitha N. G. and ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Ganesh Shetty, Asst. Prof. with the Department. Dean (Academics), Prof. Dr. A. Ganesha and the faculty members were present during the inaugural function. Ms. Zuha Begum compeered the inaugural function. Mr. Nikhil Acharya and Mr. Rayan Christ D’Souza, final year Electronics & Communication Engineering students coordinated the entire program.
