On Sunday 17th March 2013, the department of Training and Placement of SMVITM had organized one day training program on “Corporate Grooming & Etiquette, HR Round Interview and Group discussion” for the benefit of pre-final year students of SMVITM. Prof Dasharathraj K Shetty, Prof. Praveen K Shetty, Prof. Shrikanth Prabhu from MIT Manipal along with Mr Aditya Shetty from MIM Manipal were the resource persons for this training program.
During the formal inaugural session, Prof. Venugopala Rao A S, Coordinator Dept of Training and Placement welcomed the gathering and also introduced resource persons to the audience. While addressing students, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S Aithal(Principal SMVITM), focused on the efforts of Management and college administration for providing state-of-the art facilities to the students of SMVITM. Adding to it, Principal stressed the importance of such training programs and also assured that many more quality programs will be introduced in the days to come for preparing students to face campus interviews. Also he announced that the placement team of the college will have student representation too so that the future training programs can be organized as per the need of the students.
First session of training began with identifying the differences between CV, resume and bio data. In the training program, the students were taught about some good etiquette to be followed while attending interviews. Tips and guidelines for attending HR interview were also dealt in detail. A mock HR round interview was also shown. Few frequently asked questions and the effective answers for those questions were discussed.
In the second session, trainers gave tips to write attractive CV also advised what the things to be written in CV. Trainers also focused on what is group discussion, how to take part in group discussion, Dos and Don’ts in group discussion. After giving these tips students were made to take part in group discussions under the guidance of trainers.
At the end of the day program concluded with feedback from students and vote of thanks by Coordinator
