Report of Blood Donation Camp

The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Red Cross Wing of SMVITM, in association with KMC Blood Bank  Manipal, JCI- Hill City Manipal and JCI Kaup have organized Blood donation camp in the college premises on 9 March 2013. Shri P.Shrinivasa Tantri, Vice president, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust®, inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, chief guest for the function, Dr Sudha Bhat (Director KMC Blood Bank) congratulated the Management, The Principal and students of SMVITM for coming forward to organize this event. The guest of honor, Jc JFM Rathnakar Indrali appreciated the initiative taken up by the students of SMVITM and also assured to extend support of JCI India for similar activities in the institute in future. Prof. Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, Principal of SMVITM in his presidential remarks congratulated the NSS and Red Cross team for having organized an event of social benefit and also assured to support for similar events in the days to come. Mr Prashanth M D, the coordinator of NSS, Red Cross wing welcomed gathering. Mr Calwin Proposed vote of thanks and Mr Nihal Shetty compeered the programme. About 165 students/ staff and public have volunteered in this camp for donating blood.
