The Eco Club, Sthapati Student Cell, and Women Empowerment Cell of SMVITM jointly organized one-day activities for PU students of SVH PU College Innanje on 30 November 2021
The Women Empowerment Cell of SMVITM organized a session on “Health and fitness for well-being at 2 pm in the SVH PU College Innanje by Ms. Deepika B V, Institutional coordinator, WEC, Assistant Professor (Sr), Dept. of Civil Engineering, SMVITM, Bantakal. The session defined health as all about the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of a person. The speaker explained the importance of the traditional way of eating by giving importance to locally grown fruits vegetables, pulses. The session gave the benefits of physical activity which releases the happy hormones thereby reducing stress levels of the individual which will be helpful to lead a healthy life. Speaker explained the Benefits of lifestyle changes with real-life examples. At last, the session ended with giving insights about the traditional food items grown in India which are in higher demand in the developed nations because of their higher nutritional values.
The Sthapati Student Cell of Civil Engineering Department of SMVITM organized a session on “First aid during Cardiac Attack” at 3 pm in the SVH PU College Innanje by final year students of the Civil Engineering Department Ms. Janvi V Nilekani and Mr. Preetham Nayak K J. The session gave the step-by-step procedure to be followed during the cardiac attack to save the life of the person. They also gave the importance of lifestyle changes in preventing cardiac attacks.
The Eco Club organized a project exhibition on “Best Out of Waste- Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development” for PU students of SVH PU College Innanje at 4 pm. More than 45 students participated in the exhibition with the innovative model having a lab to land application and also made various craft items out of household waste. The two teams were selected as winners at the end of the exhibition. Mr. Pundarikakshya Kodancha, Principal of SVH PU College appreciated the efforts of organizing the exhibition; he also said that it was very much useful for the students to come up with innovative ideas. D Sandeep J Nayak, HOD of Civil Engineering Department gave the prizes to the winning teams, Faculties, Students of SMVITM and Students of SVH PU College were present for the exhibition.
Mr. Pundarikakshya Kodancha, The Principal of SVH PU College, Dr. Sandeep J Nayak, HOD of Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Sunil Haldankar, Institutional coordinator, Eco Club, Faculties, Students of SMVITM and Students of SVH PU College were present for the session. The session was beneficial for more than 120 students.
