National Conference on Emerging Trends in Science and Engineering (NCETSE-2019)

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management is organizing a two day national conference on “Emerging Trends in Science and Engineering”, on 26 & 27 April 2019. As a part of this conference Student Symposium was organized in the institute premises on 25 April 2019. This was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of SMVITM. While addressing the participants he stressed the importance of research and also the necessity of presenting the research work in reputed events. He congratulated all the participants for taking part in large number.  Nearly 30 presentations were made during the symposium.

Dr. Katta Venkataramana, Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering NITK Suratkal gave the concluding remarks of the symposium on the same evening.  While addressing the gathering, he threw light on … Also he highlighted on various mitigation techniques used to earthquake disasters.

Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, Dr. Vasudeva, Mr. Anand V R, conference chairs, Mr. Nagaraj Bhat, Mr. Sujay Raghavendra, Heads of various departments, faculty staff and student members were present during the function.  Ms. Sowmya Bhat, Assistant Professor (Dept. of ECE) compeered the program.

National conference on Emerging Trends in Science and Engineering (NCETSE 2019) was inaugurated by Dr. P.G. Diwakar Scientific Secretary, ISRO Bengaluru on 26 April 2019.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. P.G. Diwakar, appreciated the efforts of the college for having organized this type conference which is very much relevant in the fast growing science and technology. Lot of research work is happening around the world. It is known fact that tools and technology are changing every day. Unless we keep ourselves abreast of the technological advancements, we will be losing the race. In order to update ourselves, attending workshops/conferences of this kind help us so that we can get connected to people who are working on the similar area. He also informed that, ISRO is one among six nations in the world who have complete space program. Because of the commitment and determination of scientists of ISRO India became first country in the world that could land on Mars in the very first attempt. He also said that, ISRO is contributing in various aspects to touch the life of common people by helping various government departments through space technology.

Shri. Ratnakumar, Secretary Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Udupi presided over the inaugural function. Dr. Vasudeva, in charge Principal, welcomed the gathering. Mr. Sujay Raghavendra, Asst. Professor Civil Engineering Department introduced the chief guest and the organizing chair Mr. Anand V. R. Head Dept of Civil Engineering proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Sowmya Bhat, Asst. Professor Electronics and communication Engineering Department compered the program.

The inaugural function was followed by a keynote address on Indian Space Program, a perspective by Dr. P.G. Diwakar. Dr. Paresh Chandra Deka, Professor, Dept. of Applied Mechanics, NITK Suratkal, Dr. Arun Isloor, Professor, Dept. of Chemistry NITK Suratkal and Dr. G. S. Dwarakish, Professor, Dept. of Applied Mechanics, NITK Suratkal gave guest talks in different sessions. More than 100 research papers were presented by researchers, academics and students from across the state.

National Conference on Emerging Trends in Science and Engineering (NCETSE 2019) was concluded on 27 April 2019.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, Dr. K. C. Gouda, Senior Scientist, Council of Scientific Industrial Research, Bengaluru urged for the need of all participants of this conference to be connected even after the conference so that the synergy of the conference will be continued towards quality research.  He also stressed the importance of young minds being guided properly by experts.

Speaking further he said that, today the world is speaking all about Data Science, Data analytics and Big Data. The term Data is not only restricted to computer science professionals. Anybody with good knowledge on Statistics and Mathematics can be data science professional. Gone are the days where professionals of individual stream used to work independently. Today the time has come where interdisciplinary association is very much essential and such collaborations would have a great impact on serving the man kind in a better way.

Shri Rathnakumar, Secretary, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Udupi presided over the function. The CD containing two day conference proceedings was released by Dr. K.C. Gouda. Mr. Ananad V. R., the Organizing Chair of the conference presented a summary of the proceedings. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM welcomed the gathering and Dr. Vasudeva, Organizing Chair of the conference proposed a vote of thanks. Mr. Nagaraj Bhat, convener of the conference introduced the chief guest. Mr. Sujay Raghavendra, Convener of the conference was also present during the function.

Program began with the invocation by Ms. Shreya Bhat, student of CSE Dept and Ms. Sowmya S, Dept of CSE compered the program.
