Mirafra Technologies Delivers Insightful Talk on IC Design to SMVITM ECE Students on May 21, 2025

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at SMVITM, in collaboration with the ISTE Student Chapter and Placement Cell, successfully hosted a valuable talk for third-year ECE students. The session, held at 9:15 a.m. in the Admin Block Seminar Hall, featured Mr. Vinod John, from Mirafra Technologies, as the distinguished resource person.

Mr. John provided a comprehensive overview of the semiconductor industry, delving into current market trends and various product types. He then traced the evolution of PCBs and presented a detailed explanation of the IC Design Flow, guiding students through each stage of integrated circuit development. The talk also covered essential aspects like IC Fabrication, Packaging, and Testing, emphasizing their roles in ensuring functionality and reliability.

Furthermore, Mr. John highlighted the crucial skills and functions required to thrive in the IC domain, offering practical guidance for aspiring students. He concluded by sharing insights into Mirafra’s Hardware Team and discussing diverse career opportunities within the semiconductor industry.

The event concluded with Mr. Arun Upadhyaya, HoD, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, stressing the importance of consistent practice for skill development.
