Invited Talk on the occasion of “National Mathematics Day”

The department of Mathematics in association with the faculty chapter of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal organised an invited talk on 23 December 2022 on the occasion of “National Mathematics Day” to commemorate 135th birthday of the great Indian Mathematician Shri Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Dr. C. K. Manjunath, Student welfare officer, SMVITM, Bantakal, was the speaker. In his talk he mentioned that looking into the contribution of Indian Mathematician Srinivas  Ramanujan , Ex. Prime Minister  Dr. Monmohan Sigh declared Ramanjans 125th birth anniversary as   National Mathematics Day in the year 2012 . Also he narrated about the Ramanujans early life and interest toward the numbers. He inspired the students taking the example that without the formal training in pure mathematics, he had made substantial contributions in Mathematics so he asked students to create a new mile stone at this campus.

Principal, Professor Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat welcomed the gathering and briefed about the importance of the day. Dr. Lolita Priya castelino, HOD of Mathematics, mentioned the names of the students who scored 100 in Mathematics in the end semester examination and were honoured by the institution.  Also, distributed the prizes of various events conducted under ISTE banner.

The program was compered by Ms. Shrutha Bhat  of IV year CSE and Mr. Dhanush Shet of I year CSE. The event was coordinated by the Mathematics Department.
