Inauguration of IEEE Student Branch

Student branch of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) was inaugurated at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal on 19 September, 2018. Dr. Muralidhar Kulkarni, Senior member of IEEE and Professor of ECE Department, NITK Surathkal was the chief guest of the function. Shri Rathnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET, Udupi presided over the function. In his inaugural address Prof. Kulkarni elaborated the activities of IEEE and explained the benefits of being an IEEE member. He told that by starting the student branch, SMVITM has moved a step ahead towards achieving technical excellence and expertise.

Shri Rathnakumar, wished that the newly constituted IEEE student branch be flourished through variety of activities. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institute appreciated the efforts of the students in establishing the IEEE student branch and opined that the professional society will give new dimension to the activities conducted in the institute. Prof. Vasudeva, Student branch counsellor introduced the officers of student branch.

Mr. Shrivishnu, Chair, Student Branch welcomed the gathering and Ms. Prerana P, Treasurer proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Ashutosh Kumar, Vice Chair, introduced the chief guest. The program began with the invocation by Ms. Chinmayee Kulkarni and compeered by Ms. Megha Samaga.

Prior to the formal function, some technical activities were conducted by Ms. Chaitanya Padmashali, Secretary, Ms. Apoorva R, Ms. Gopika and others as part of IEEE awareness drive.
