Guest talk on Women Health and Hygiene at SMVITM, Bantakal

The Women Empowerment Cell of Shri Madhwa vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management organized a guest talk on Women Health and Hygiene on 20 January 2023. Dr. Indira Pai Shanbhag, Consultant Obstetrician of City Hospital Udupi was the resource person. Around 120 girl students of 1^st and 2^nd year participated in the session. Lady faculties and staff members of the college were also present.

Dr. Indira emphasized the importance of exercise and good nutritious food in well-being of Women Health. She told that PCOD is very common in the present days which can be cured in the early stages with exercise and adequate nutritious food. Also she said that mental health is as important as physical health. She gave an insight about sexual abuse and how it could impact a life of a girl.

Ms. Arathi Kini for 3^rd year CSE welcomed the gathering and Ms. Vaishnavi Rao of 2^nd year CSE was the master of ceremony.

Dr. Deepika B V, HOD of Civil Engineering and Coordinator of Women Empowerment Cell coordinated the programme.
