Guest talk on Importance of Occupational health safety and Environment

“Prakriti” ECO club Unit of SMVITM in association with ISTE student chapter of SMVIT and Civil Engineering Department of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal organized technical lectures at the institute premises on 27 July 2016.

Dr. Ganapthi Bhat Manchi, an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Practitioner and having Canadian permanent resident (PR) status, Qatar delivered a lecture on “Importance of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment in Civil Engineering”. Dr. Bhat introduced a very important topic such as Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) concerned with the health and safety of people working in construction sites. The students were also provided with information regarding various pre-requisites to make a career out of Occupational health and safety (OHS) discipline.

Er. Jagannivasa Rao P.G, a renowned Civil and Vasthu Consultant, Puttur. Gave insight on vaastu requirement for the civil Engineering students.

The Principal of SMVITM, Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Prof. Dr. B. Radheshyam, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty and Staff members were present during the occasion. Ms. Anjumol Raju and Mr. Kishor introduced the chief guests while Mr. Salman Ameer Assadi Vote of Thanks.
