CSI GIRLS BOARDING HOME VISIT

We the student volunteers of final year CSE of SMVITM Bantakal along with the concerned faculties planned for a visit to CSI Girls Boarding Home, Mulky on 17th September 2017. We planned to give away the assignment books which were not completely used and contained 50-80% of blank pages to the girls in the boarding home, so that they can make effective use of them. So we sorted the books into used ones and partially used ones. The used books were given to scrap and the amount what we obtained from it was used to make necessary arrangements during the visit. The one set, of around 800, partially used books were given to the boarding school and the other set of books is planned to be given to residential school at Innanje.

We reached the orphanage at around 2.00 P.M. The children of the boarding school were pleasantly excited to see us. The caretaker guided us to the venue where we could do the possible arrangements for the event.

In parallel, balloon balancing, ball in the bucket, antakshari and quiz was being conducted for the high school children. There was a small dance session with the girls too. All the children were given chocolates and smiley badges for actively participating in the event. We spent a little over three hours with the children before saying goodbye to them. We distributed sweets to the children. We signed off the event with a group photograph. It was indeed a satisfying experience for us as we could bring smile on children’s faces however for a brief period.
