BLOOD DONATION CAMP

National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross wing, (YRC) and Rotaract Club of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, in association with the blood bank of K.M.C, Manipal; Prasad Nethralaya, Udupi and JCI, Udupi City, organized one-day blood donation camp at the institute premises on 15 September 2013.

Dr. Shamee Shastry, Doctor-in-Charge, KMC Blood Bank, Manipal inaugurated the camp. Shri P Shrinivasa Thantry, Vice President SSVMET, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal,  and Prof. Dr. A. Ganesha, Director, Principal and Dean (Academics) of SMVITM respectively; NSS/YRC Coordinator Mr. Prashanth M.D, Mr. Sudhir , members of the NSS, YRC and Rotaract Club and student volunteers were present during the inaugural function.

The blood donation camp began with the Dean donating blood. More than 100 people, including members of the faculty, staff and students of SMVITM donated blood and a total of 132 units of blood were collected at the camp.
