Alumnus talk on “ College life and Career planning”

CSE department of SMVITM, Bantakal organized a talk by Ms. Devika Lakshmeesha Bhat, alumni of SMVITM from the 2015 batch, for the present pre-final year students of the department on 15 March 2018. Ms. Devika in her talk shared her experience as a student at SMVITM and also as an engineer at DXC Technology.

Talking about the placements, she mentioned how she had failed in her first campus interview, which made her to prepare more for the next upcoming campus drive. She suggested the students to check the company profiles before attending the campus interview, questions of previous tests conducted by the companies.

She stressed on the point how internship at Sangam One Connected Services, helped her to crack the interviews and how important it is come up with hobby projects. She also told the importance of socializing to build professional network and also suggested, as a fresher one must grab the opportunity and keep on improving to reach higher levels. By sharing her experience of being a volunteer and participating in various college events, she conveyed how she got rid of stage fear and advised the students to come forward and grab the opportunity whenever any notification for taking part in such event comes.

She concluded by asking the students to be smart and try to upgrade their skills on a daily basis, which ultimately will help them build a strong profile.
