Alumnus talk on “Career Opportunities in Product Management”

Alumni Cell in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a talk by our proud alumnus Mr. Nayak Abhishek of 4th passed out batch on 22 March 2019.

Mr. Abhishek, is currently associated with Pay 1 as a Product Manager. He addressed the pre- final year students of Department of Mechanical Engineering. The talk was focused on the career path of a Product Manager and opportunities in Product Management.

Mr. Abhishek, shared his experiences being a Product manager at Pay 1 and his part in launching new products for the company. He clearly stated that there are numerous opportunities for engineering graduates but one must fit in for the role. He insisted that the students must be aware of day to day developments in the market and understand how rapidly things change.

Mr. Abhishek, highlighted that there are a large number of problems to be solved in many domains, one must start thinking in this direction, identify the problem and try to provide the solution and implement them.

Mr. Abhishek also mentioned that attitude plays a very important role in tackling problems in the outside world. One must be ready to learn always and be updated. He also mentioned that he had utilized a lot of opportunities during his engineering days at SMVITM to develop himself and be market ready.

Mr. Anirudh Rao, student of 6th sem, Department of Mechanical Engineering welcomed the gathering. Mr. Aditya Kudva S, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering coordinated the event and proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. H Udaya Prasanna presented a memento to Mr. Abhishek. Dr. Gajanan Anne, Associate Professor and Mr. Manjunath S, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering were also present.
