A two-day workshop on Arduino Programming was organized by CodeTroopers club in association with IEEE Student Branch, SMVITM on 27 and 28 September 2019 in order to introduce the Arduino programming to the first-year engineering students of SMVITM.
To inculcate the trait of peer learning among students, the workshop was conducted by a motivated team of budding engineers from SMVITM which comprised of Mr. Suraj Shetty, Mr. Vineeth P Nayak, Mr. Shamith Joshi, Mr. Vignesh Kudva, Mr. Rakshith, Mr. Srivastha, Mr. Harish and Mr. Nikhilesh pursuing second year engineering in different streams.
In the workshop sessions, students were introduced to the basic topics of microcontrollers, programming the Arduino for blinking of single and multiple LEDs, reading and processing the data from different types of sensors, controlling the Arduino through Blynk app and creating a various type of apps using MIT App inventor.
Dr. Vasudeva, Professor and Head, Department of CSE, emphasized the relevance of peer learning to students in present day scenario and gave his valuable inputs for the workshop. Mr. Manoj T, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE and Mr. Deepak Rao M, Assistant Professor (Senior), Department of CSE respectively, coordinated the event.
