Teachers Day and Engineers Day 2021-22

ISTE Faculty Chapter of SMVITM, Bantakal in association with the extracurricular committee organised Teachers Day and Engineers day celebration at SMVITM, on 15 September 2021 at the institute premises.

Er.Arun Prabha K.S. General Manager, Mangalore Smart City Limited was the Chief Guest for the event.

In his address he emphasised that the efficient and great administration like Sir M. Visvesvaraya would be the beacon for the engineers. And also said that education is only the medium to excel and go back to the golden period of Visvesvaraya.

The guest of honour of this program Dr.B.M.Somayaji, Former Professor, Chemistry Department, PPC, Udupi, addressed regarding the life of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Sir M. Visvesvaraya. Their eminent personality inspired us in day to day life. Continuing his speech he congratulated and appreciated all the teachers for their contribution to the field of education and how the new generation of Teachers need to keep inspiring students. We have to give importance to knowledge rather than google information .Intelligent quotient, Emotional, Spiritual, Happiness quotient is lagging behind now a days. He also has given instances of his teaching career.

Dr. Udaya Prasanna (Rtd. Prof.Dept. of ME) honoured during this occasion. Also CET mock test toppers were felicitated.

Shri Ratnakumar (secretary SSVMET) also addressed the gathering. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM, presided over the function. In his Presidential address, he spoke on the relevance of celebrating Teachers day and Engineers day in the fond memory of Dr. Sarvapalli  Radhakrishnan and Sir M.Visvesvaraya respectively. He told to inculcate their qualities in our life.

Also in the beginning of the program, tribute is offered to the departed soul of Oscar Fernandes, Former MP and Sr. Congress leader. During inauguration of the college in the year 2010 we were fortunate to have him as the chief guest.

On account of Engineers Day and Teachers day competitions were conducted. Winners were awarded with the prizes.

Ms. Sneha Dsouza, Asst. Professor, Dept. of English gave a brief overview about the relevance of both Teachers’ Day and Engineer’s Day and compered the program. Mr.Manjunath and Ms. Bhagyalaxmi  Assistant Professors introduced the Chief Guest and guest of honour respectively. Dr. Ganesh Aithal, Vice Principal welcomed the gathering and Ms. Ramyashree, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and  Engineering proposed the vote of thanks.

Deans,HoDs of various departments, Teaching and non teaching staff were present during the Program.
