Central Library, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Research & Consultancy cell of SMVITM, jointly organized an awareness talk on “Use of Turnitin-an Anti-plagiarism Software” on 05 March 2020 for the benefit of Research Scholars, Faculty members and Final year students. Dr.Vasudeva, Dean, Research and Consultancy of SMVITM was the resource person.
Dr. Vasudeva started his session by briefing about plagiarism, various types of plagiarism and different levels of plagiarism. Then he continued his session with Plagiarism checker software by Turnitin to check for plagiarism and grammar mistakes. Turnitin is an originality checking and plagiarism prevention service that checks the writing for citation mistakes or inappropriate copying. Upon submission of the paper, Turnitin compares it to text in its massive database of student work, websites, books, articles, etc. Turnitin solutions promote academic integrity, streamline grading and feedback, determine plagiarism, and improve student outcomes.
Finally, Dr. Vasudeva showed one demo on how to upload the paper in the Turnitin software for grading and generation of the report.
