Workshop on “Data Science and Machine Learning” at SMVITM

Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Engineering of SMVITM jointly organized two days hands-on workshop on “Data Science and Machine Learning”on 20th August 2023 in the institute premises.

The workshop was started with an inspiring address by Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institution said that machine learning, artificial intelligence transforming the digital world and revolutionizing the digital world. He stressed on the importance and relevance of multi-disciplinary applicability of Data Science and machine Learning. He emphasized that students need to think the career aspects in the field of Data Science and Machine Learning.

Earlier, Mr. Nagaraja Rao, Incharge Head, Dept. of AI & DS and AI & ML Engineering welcomed the gathering and gave the insights about the training program, importance of conducting such programs for the benefit of the students.

In these two days students are going to learn, Fundamentals of Machine Learning, Basics of Python Programming, Data preprocessing, Model evaluation, Feature selection Ensemble Learning, Introduction to Neural Networks etc. Throughout these two days, a series of interactive sessions and hands-on tutorials will be conducted by our Alumni Ms. Shrutha, Mr.Vikram, Mr. Yajnesh, Mr. Vishwas, Ms. Chandana and Mr. Shridhar.

Mr. Abhishek Shetty, 2nd year Data Science, invoked the blessings from the Almighty. Ms. Ananya A Shetty of 2^nd year Data Science, compeered the program and proposed vote of thanks. A total of 55 students from both the branches showed interest in the training program.
