Department of Mechanical Engineering of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management in association with Institution’s Innovation Council and ISTE student chapter has organized an invited talk on “Recent Innovations in Energy Conversion, Conservation and Storage” on the National Energy Conservation Day on 14 December 2024. Dr. Arun Kumar H S, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, MIT, Manipal was the resource person of the program.
On November 27, 2024, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at SMVITM, in collaboration with the ISTE Student Chapter and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, organized an engaging industry visit to KARMIC Design Private Ltd., Manipal. Renowned as a leader in the semiconductor design and development industry, KARMIC provided students with a remarkable opportunity to experience the real-world applications of their academic knowledge.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, in collaboration with the ISTE Student Chapter, Co-curricular cell and Technocrators club of ECE Department had organized a three-day workshop on the “Python Programming” from October 24 to October 26, 2024, at the college premises. The workshop featured Mr. G K Bhat, Ms. Sahana and Mr. Saiprasad from Kakunje Software Mangaluru, as the resource person.
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System. The major objective of the ISTE is to provide quality training programs to teachers and administrators of technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in their fields of activity and to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other organisations.
SMVITM has been certified by ISTE, New Delhi as the Institutional Member ( IM: 2248 ) in the year 2013. To extend the services from ISTE, an ISTE Student Chapter ( KA-114 ) and ISTE Faculty Chapter ( KA-118 ) has been formed to motivate faculty and student members in the institute to contribute their technical skills. All the teaching faculty in the institute are Life Members of ISTE and all students are also enrolled as ISTE Student Members during their period of engineering education in the institute. ISTE Chapters in SMVITM has organized several technical programs like National Conference, Seminars, Workshop, Faculty Development Program, technical competitions etc.
