Three research papers authored by the faculty and students of SMVITM have won the best paper awards in the 5th International Research Colloquium on Advanced Engineering and Information Technology held at Manipal University, Dubai, on 12 July 2020.
The papers titled “An Approach towards the Extractive Text Summarization of Hindi news portals” by Dr. Sachin Bhat, U Pooja Nair and Suraksha; “Extraction of Human Body Measurement using Affine mode correction and Green Screen Segmentation” by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Thrishna, Thejashree, Vidyashree and Chaitra; and “Transliteration of Kannada text to English from images” by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Kannika Priyadarshini, Bhagyashree Bhat, Harshitha and Annapurna Upadhya have won the best paper awards in the categories of EC, EE and IT respectively.
Two more papers titled “Air quality monitoring and pollution analysis” by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Manasa Shetty, Rashi Shetty, Ashwini Shankara Shetty and Chaitrika Shetty; and “Enhanced Fuzzy Possibilistic C-Means method for the segmentation of Lung tumors” by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Rushali Naik and Vinutha have won the second best paper awards in two other tracks.
