Teachers’ Day Celebration-2015

Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal under the Extra Curricular Committee on 5 September 2015. Prof. P. Ananthkrishna Bhat, retired professor, Canara College, Mangaluru and Prof. Ganesha S. Udupi, retired professor, UBDTCE, Davanagere were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively on the occasion.

Delivering his Teachers’ Day message, Prof. Ananthkrishna Bhat said that it had been the tradition of India to respect and honour teachers. Mother was the first teacher and it was one’s duty to remember all the teachers, who had taught one, right from the pre-primary to the university classes. According to Prof. Bhat, a teacher was a senior student and a student a junior teacher. Teachers should command respect, not demand it. He urged the students to be socially committed and be good to oneself as well to others.

Prof. Ganesh S. Udupi was felicitated on the occasion for the philanthropic services he had rendered to the needy students.

Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM presided over the function. Dr. A. Ganesha, Dean (Academics) welcomed the gathering and Ms. Vani V. Bhat of III Semester Computer Science & Engineering proposed a vote of thanks.

Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, Director, SMVITM; Ms. Subbulakshmi Karanth, Extracurricular Activities Coordinator; Heads of the Departments and Student Council members were present.

The formal program was followed by different fun games and entertainment programs organized by the students for the members of the faculty.
