The Student Chapter of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and civil department in association with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (I), Mangalore center and RAMCO Pvt. Ltd had organized a technical event titled as “Technoweek-2019”. The program was held on 25th September 2019 at the institute premises. Dr. Suresh S N, Associate professor from NITK, Surathkal addressed the gathering regarding “Code of ethics to practice civil engineering”. Speaker initiated the lecture by explaining the morals, values and ethics in day to day practice. He also stressed more on professional ethics and Codes of engineering ethics to identify a role with respect to the engineer’s consideration for the public, clients, employers, and the profession. He also explained the violation of the code of ethics in civil engineering practice by giving various case studies that have been happening in the recent past.
The second resource person for the day was Mr. Girish M, Senior Assistant Professor, MIT, Manipal. He delivered his vast knowledge on “Nondestructive evaluation of building”. He has explained the working of different types of nondestructive devices and its practice in the construction field. The session was purely technical regarding the evaluation of structural stability and its quality by using various types of non destructive equipments.
On this occasion members of ACCE Mr. Harish Aithal, Mr.Shathappa, Mr. Manohar, HODs, faculty members & students were present in the program. Ms. Janvi V Nilekani welcomed the gathering while Ms. Alpha I Gurikar proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Jayakesh and Mr. Rohith Prakash Veigas introduced the guests and Ms. Chaithra G Shetty compeered the programme.
