SHRAMADANA

NSS Unit of SMVITM carried out a “Shramadana” program on 28 February 2015 at institute premises. As part of the NSS training the campers carried out ‘Shramadana’ which gave them joy, physical fitness and kept their spirits high. They removed the grass and unwanted plants on either sides of the access road of SMVITM College and also the premises. NSS Unit Program Coordinator Mr. Nagaraja Rao led the NSS students undertaking the Shramadana.

Students carried the soil from the high area to the low areas of playground and backfilled the place and leveled it. They prepared the area suitable for 2 Volleyball courts. Some volunteers of SMVITM also joined them doing the digging of soil required for backfill. The campers group has been divided into 5 teams.

Those students who were interested also joined for other work in the campus etc. Many trees like Asoka tree, Mango tree, Badam tree etc. were planted. They have now learned the strength in unity and they all feel that everyone is equal and by sharing how simple life can be. Earlier Principal Prof. Dr.Radhakrishna S. Aithal inaugurated the program.

During the program, Dean Academics, HOD’s of various departments, section heads were present.
