Alumni cell of SMVITM in association with Department of Mechanical Engineering has organized Alumni Interaction and Invited talk on the topic “Cryogenics” on 15 September 2018. Our proud alumnus Mr. Karthik A V was resource person of the session. The talk was held at library block seminar hall 2.
Mr. Karthik A V graduated in Mechanical Engineering from SMVITM, Bantakal in the year 2015 and completed his post graduation in Thermal Sciences & Energy Systems from MIT, Manipal in 2018. Currently he is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at A.J.Institute of Engineering & Technology, Mangaluru. He worked in Cryogenic Laboratory at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru for his M.Tech project work.
In his address, he shared his experiences at Cryogenic Laboratory at I.I.Sc, Bengaluru, also he briefed the research work carried out by him at I.I.Sc. He explained about the problems faced in the transportation of the cryogenic liquids and discussed the possible solutions for the same. He interacted with our students and motivated the students to learn CFD related softwares before the completion of their graduation. Also, he appreciated the developmental activities in our campus in the recent years.
Mr. Raja Yateesh Yadav, welcomed the gathering and introduced our Alumni to the students. Professor & Head of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Sudarshan Rao K presented a memento to the invited speaker, Institutional Alumni Coordinator Mr. Aditya Kudva S proposed the vote of thanks. Faculty, Staff and Pre-final year students of Mechanical Engineering were present in the session.
