KNOW THYSELF – A Spiritual Retreat programme

‘’Knowing thyself is possible only when we clearly understand the intention of our existence in this universe and this happens when our conscious starts the quest for knowledge, said Vidyavachaspathi  Dr. Bannanaje Govindacharya, a renowned orator and exceptional Sanskrit Scholar in a unique programme entitled ‘Know Thyself’, hosted by Shree Madwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal, Udupi here on Saturday.

This programme is to highlight the inevitability of spirituality to have a better understanding of one’s inner and outer self. Both spirituality and its outcome of beliefs is the only roof we have to find solace in this restless mundane life.

Continuing, resource person Dr. Bannanje said, everything needed to lead a fruitful and contented life is hidden inside Indian Philosophical books and thoughts and we have to understand it, he said. He also expressed his grief towards current education system saying it hampers the growth and development of personality and nullifies ones common sense, turns him to a behave like a drunken monkey, he said.

The programme was inaugurated by lightening the lamp by his holiness Shri Vishwa Vallabha Teertha Swamiji of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi. In the beginning Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat presented a birds view of the two-day Spiritually Oriented programme, said about its importance and also relevance. Shri Shrinivasa Tantry, Vice President, SSVMET, Secretary Shri RathnaKumar and other managing trustees were present on the occasion.

Before this, more than 50 delegates from all over state including CEOs, HRs of various Induastries, IIMs etc. were uniquely welcomed by traditional ‘Chande Naada’ and were garlanded by a robot, which was designed by the students of SMVITM.

In the later session, Dr. Prasad Kaipa, spoke about a rare concept called ‘Trikarana Shuddhi’, where if the mind, body and soul if synchronized and work together then wonder may happen, he said. He also gave an interesting live demonstration of reading and analyzing mind of one of the delegates in his lecture. In rest of the sessions, Shri Kurnool Shrinivasacharya, eminent scholar, Dr. Krishna Bhat, Director of International Institute Of Holistic Health, Mangalore, Dr. Vyasanakere Prabhanjanacharya, leading Sanskrit Scholar and Dr. PR mukund, Researcher, noted Academician and disseminator of Vedic Knowledge all over the world shall deliver distinguished flavored sessions today and tomorrow.

At the late evening, panel discussions with the delegates, also a Yakshagaana event has been organized by the staff and students for the delegates in the institute premises.

 

Valedictory of ‘KNOW THYSELF – A Spiritual Retreat’

 

‘Divine thinking, following spirituality are the ultimate tonics for peaceful and joyful life’ – said Shri Shri VishwaVallabha Teertha Swamiji of Sode Vadiraja Matha in the valedictory ceremony of two day’s Spiritual Retreat ‘Know thyself’ organized by SMVITM, Bantakal here on Sunday. Continuing, he said this wonderful universe is the creation of the almighty; his existence may not be seen by bare eyes, but he is Omni-present, can be experienced in every bit of this world through spirituality, he said

Before that, renowned academician, author, disseminator of Vedic Knowledge Dr. PR Mukund delivered a lecture on ‘Universal Intelligence and Energy’.  To attain the ultimate goal of life one need to have total aversion towards all the factors standing against it as obstacles, he said.

 

Later, renowned scholar & orator Dr. Vyasanakere Prabhanjanacharya delivered  a discourse on ‘Spiritual Learning  From Legendary Personalities’, in which he gave a brief introduction about the spiritual powers of the legendary spiritual figure , Shri Vadiraja. Also knowledge is not a commodity to be sold and nothing is   permanent except knowledge, he said.

The spiritual Sunday began with a visit to the divine & sacred birth place of Acharya Madhwa, Pajaka followed by the discourses. The two-day Spiritual event concluded in a positive note with all the delegates having a fruitful panel discussion with the faculty and students of the institution.

Secretary Shri RathnaKumar, Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institution, Heads of various departments and industrial delegates were present on the occasion.

Mrs. VidyaBhat, Placement Officer of the institution coordinated the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
