The Department of Civil Engineering in association with ISTE Faculty Chapter of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized three days Faculty Development Program on “Water Resources, Geo-Environmental Challenges and its Application” in the institute premises. The FDP was inaugurated on 12 June 2018. More than 40 participants from different engineering colleges participated in faculty development program.
Dr. Lakshman Nandagiri, Professor, Department of Applied Mechanics and Hydraulics NITK Surathkal was the chief guest for the inaugural function said the importance of water to the mankind and conflicts on water between various states and nation.
Mr. Ratnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET, who presided over the function addressed that Engineers has to relate the science and technology used in ancient time for the challenges faced due to natural calamities in present days and conveyed his best wishes for all the participants.
Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institute welcomed the gathering. Mr. Anand V R Head, Department of Civil Engineering gave the prelude to the FDP. Mr. Sunil Haldankar, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering introduced the chief guest. Ms. Deepika B V, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Vaishnavi V Katte, IV Semester Civil Engineering rendered an invocation. Ms. Shinny Melita D’Souza, Assistant Professor of Computer Science & Engineering compered the program.
