To commemorate the invention of Raman Effect by Sir C V Raman, our country is celebrating “National Science Day” every year. This year (28/02/2017) the national science day was dedicated to specially abled children by the community club of SMVITM. In this connection the community club of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology, Bantakal has celebrated the day in a special way by inviting the specially abled students of “Manasa”, a school for specially abled children to the campus. The students of community club conducted science experiments and exhibited few models on science for the benefit of the students. In addition to this the students performed some variety entertainment program to entertain the specially abled children. Vice president of ‘Manasa rehabilitation school’ Mr.Henry Menezes was the chief guest on this occasion who expressed his deep sense of gratitude to the institution and the volunteers. He also appreciated the noble gesture of organizing such a memorable event for the in-mates of the school. Prof..Dr.Thirumaleshwara Bhat presided over the function. Coordinator of community club, HOD’s of various departments, student volunteers were present. Mr.Sanjay briefed about the importance of National Science Day. Ms.Megha Samaga welcomed the gathering, compeered the program and proposed vote of thanks. Faculty coordinators Mr. Narayan Nayak and Ms Sowmya Bhat were present during the occasion. Around 200 people witnessed this program.
