Final-year ECE students Ms. Anagha Bhat S, Ms. Ananya K, and Ms. B. Chaithra from SMVITM, Bantakal, under the guidance of Mr. Arun Upadhyaya, Assistant Professor (Selection Grade), have developed an IoT-based Smart Inventory Management System to improve food storage efficiency and safety. The system uses RFID, ESP8266, and environmental sensors to track inventory and monitor conditions like temperature, humidity, gas levels, and fire hazards in real-time. Inventory data is stored in Google Sheets, and email alerts are triggered for unsafe conditions or nearing expiry dates. This innovative solution helps reduce food waste and supports sustainable storage practices.
