A two-hour workshop titled “Arduino Made Easy – Design, Simulate & Test using TinkerCAD” was successfully organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the Department of Basic Science and the Technocrators Club, at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, on 25 October 2025.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Athula Bhat, Mr. Aditya Das, and Mr. Balrama Bharadwaja, students of the 6th semester, with the support of Mr. Arun Upadhyaya, Head of the Department of ECE, Dr. Deepika B. V., Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and First-Year Coordinator, and Ms. Pavithra, Assistant Professor (Senior) and Coordinator of the Technocrators Club.
The session introduced participants to the fundamentals of Arduino and provided hands-on experience using TinkerCAD, an online circuit simulation platform. Topics such as digital and analog I/O, LED blinking, push-button control, and sensor-based automation were covered through live demonstrations. Participants learned how to write code, simulate designs, and troubleshoot circuits virtually, making the experience both practical and accessible.
The workshop concluded with a discussion on the applications of Arduino in embedded systems and the role of simulation tools like TinkerCAD in enhancing modern electronics learning. The session was well received by the attendees, who appreciated the clarity, interactive approach, and enthusiasm of the student presenters. Overall, the event served as an engaging platform for students to develop foundational skills in embedded system design and simulation.
