Visit to old age home: “Ozanam” – Home for the Aged

Women Empowerment Cell of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management organized a visit to ‘Ozanam- Home for the aged’ an Old age home on Friday 26 April, 2019.

During the visit many activities were organised which included games and other cultural events. It was a great moment of bonding for the faculties, students with the members of the old age home where they shared their life stories and participated in activities like singing and games which were planned to bring a smile on their face.

Students sang filmy songs, group songs. Ms. Nisha from 6^th Sem CSE narrated a story in Kannada to the elderly people and they enjoyed it. Ms. Vasundhara of 6^th Sem ECE and group performed two bharathanatyam dances and Ms. Shivani of 6^th Sem and group danced for a filmy song which brought a broad smile on their faces. Later our students interacted with the elderly people in groups, shared their feelings, joys.

The old age home ‘Ozanam- Home for the aged’ is situated in the out skirts of Udupi, at a place called Santhekatte which consisted of 40 elderly citizens. The program included a total of 63 members which included students, faculty members of SMVITM visiting the old age home.
