Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Our College has been selected as the participating institute of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan programme, an initiative of Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India (http://unnat.iitd.ac.in/index.php/Pages/display/index).  As part of this program the institute has adopted five villages – Shirva, Innanje, Kurkal, Katapady and Kote. The institute has already conducted a preliminary survey of these villages and will be submitting the project report on the developmental needs and technical solutions to the problems of these villages.

The Mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India. It also aims to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.
