Udupi District PU College Principal’s Association’s Annual General Meeting and Felicitation Programme

Udupi District PU College Principal’s Association’s   Annual Meeting and felicitation program was organized in association with Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) Bantakal at SMVITM campus on 23 January 2021.

The program was inaugurated by Shri Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Shri Sode Vadiraja Matha Udupi. In his inaugural address Shri Swamiji elaborated how technology has become integral part of our day in day out life. As there is huge demand for talented technocrats, this institute was established with the objective of providing quality technical education especially to the students of Udupi district. The institute has completed ten years of educational service with many remarkable milestones. Swamiji wished the Principals present in the program would convey the opportunities available at SMVITM for the higher education and encourage the students to make the best use of it.

Chief Guest of the program, Shri B Sadashiva Prabhu, ADC- Udupi District appreciated the commendable achievements of the students in the second PU board examinations. He encouraged the top performers in the PU examinations and also advised that the felicitation of this kind not only recognizes the students’ achievements but also adds responsibility to continue the same tempo to perform still better in the days to come. He also complemented the achievements of SMVITM in the short span of ten years of establishment and wished SMVITM to become one of pioneer institution to add a feather to the cap of Udupi District

Shri Bhagavantha Kattimani, DDPO, Udupi District gave the prelude to the program and also wholeheartedly thanked the Management and Staff members of SMVITM for supporting in video recording of PU Subjects.  Shri Rathnakumar, Secretary of SSVMET, while giving the presidential address appreciated the contribution of teaching community to continue academic activities during ongoing pandemic. He also requested the PU Principals to identify students who are interested in innovation/research and he assured to extend the support from SMVITM to nurture those talented students with the help of faculty members of SMVITM. He quoted a few instances wherein students had to go through tough time during CET document uploading process and also option entry process and also shared how SMVITM was able to resolve these issues. He requested all the Principals to guide the CET aspirant students to complete the CET process flawlessly and assured SMVITM can support in this regard for the betterment of students.

The staff members of SMVITM who had contributed toward video recording of four subjects of science stream were honored during the event. Top performers in the 2019-20 PU examinations were honored in the event. Meritorious students of SC and ST community who have performed exceptionally well in II PU examinations were given with Laptops sponsored by Dept. of PU Education, Govt. of Karnataka. Also retired Principals were felicitated during this occasion.

Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal SMVITM welcomed the gathering while Ms. Ramyashree, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE SMVITM Bantakal invoked blessing of Almighty. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. A. P. Kodancha Principal SVH PU College Innanje. This program was followed by the Annual General Meeting of the Principals’ Association.
