The Counselling Cell of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized a two-day Leadership Training Camp on 29th and 30th September 2025 for students of Engineering, MBA, Nursing, and Allied Health. The event was conducted in collaboration with the M. R. Pai Foundation, jointly with the Forum of Free Enterprise, Mumbai.
Mrs. Gita Pai, Trustee of the M. R. Pai Foundation, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Mrs. Swati Kapadia, CEO, served as the Guest of Honour. The resource persons for the camp were Mr. Sachin Kamath and Mr. Vivek Patki from Mumbai. In her address, Mrs. Swati Kapadia emphasized the vital role of leadership training in shaping the youth to become responsible future leaders and commended SMVITM for hosting the program for the first time. Principal Dr. Thirumaleshwar Bhat delivered the presidential address, highlighting that while technical knowledge is imparted through academic curricula, essential life and leadership skills must also be cultivated. He expressed gratitude to Mrs. Gita Pai and acknowledged the vision of the late M. R. Pai for his lasting contributions to youth empowerment.The first day of the camp included sessions on communication skills, goal setting, and the importance of habits in achieving success. Mr. Kamath and Mr. Patki conducted interactive activities that helped students differentiate between dreams, desires, and goals, recognize life’s comparison and expectation traps, and develop time management, self-esteem, and commitment through positive habit formation.
The second day’s sessions focused on decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, and self-confidence building. Students were encouraged to unlock their potential and strengthen interpersonal connections through collaborative exercises.
The Valedictory Function was held on 30th September 2025, hosted by Ms. Akshitha, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE. The dais featured the resource persons, along with Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO of Sode Group of Educational Institutions. Several students came forward to share their reflections and experiences—many speaking in public for the very first time. Mr. Vivek Patki appreciated the participants’ enthusiasm and wished them success in their future endeavors. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal lauded the M. R. Pai Foundation and the Forum of Free Enterprise for their meaningful collaboration, commended the students’ active participation, and announced that the Leadership Training Camp would be organized annually henceforth.
