On June 3, 2025, Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, through its Training and Placement Cell, Department of Basic Science, and ISTE Student Chapter, hosted an inspiring UPSC awareness session titled “Awaken the Administrator Within.”

The session featured Mr. Vinayaka N Petlae and Mr. Madhunandan P Rao, Founders and Directors of IAS Jnani, both highly regarded for mentoring numerous civil service aspirants. Mr. Petlae began by highlighting the pivotal role of civil services in nation-building, discussing the power, prestige, and responsibility of an IAS officer, and sharing impactful real-life stories.

Subsequently, Mr. Rao provided practical advice on initiating UPSC preparation during college, covering the exam structure, effective strategies, and the disciplined mindset needed for success. He also reviewed model questions and stressed the importance of newspapers, NCERT books, and consistent effort.

The session’s interactive style and inspiring anecdotes kept students thoroughly engaged, leading many to express a strong interest in pursuing public service careers. Mr. Roshan S Kotian, Head – Training and Placement Cell, concluded the session with a vote of thanks, appreciating the speakers and acknowledging the enthusiastic participation of the Principal, Deans, HODs, and first-year students.
