Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), in association with Niraamaya Institute of Health Sciences, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on January 26, 2026, at the college premises. The day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India in 1950, marking the nationβs transformation into a sovereign democratic republic.
The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Educational Institutions, followed by a ceremonial parade and salutes.
The Republic Day message was delivered by Mr. Balachandra Jogi, Assistant Professor, Department of AI & DS, who highlighted the significance of the Indian Constitution and emphasized the values of unity, discipline, and patriotism. He encouraged students to uphold constitutional principles and actively contribute to nation-building.
Dr. Radhakrishna Aithal addressed the gathering on the importance of democracy, national integrity, and social responsibility. He inspired students, faculty, and staff members of SMVITM and Niraamaya College of Nursing to cultivate ethical values, leadership qualities, and a service-oriented mindset for the progress of the nation.
Dr. Nagaraj Bhat, Principal, SMVITM; Dr. Naveen M. Ballal, Director, Niraamaya Institute of Health Sciences; Dr. Sudharshan Rao, Dean (Academics), SMVITM; and Mr. B. Shivashankar Pai, Principal, NCAHS Bantakal, were present during the programme.
The NCC cadets of SMVITM played an active role throughout the event, coordinating the ceremony, maintaining discipline, and presenting a well-organized parade. The celebrations concluded on a note of national pride, unity, and renewed commitment towards building a strong and inclusive India.
