Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management Bantakal conducted a workshop on “Identifying Intellectual Property component at the early stage of innovation” on 13, January, 2021. The Program was jointly organized by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the institute in association with VTPC, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru.
The resource person Ms. Prabhavathi Rao, Facilitator – Intellectual Property Initiatives, VTPC, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Karnataka briefed about Geographic Indication and Opportunities from the GOK Centre for Export promotion with focus on Geographical Indications tagged products as a key IP tool.
Another resource person Ms. Bindu Sharma, Founder & CEO, Origin IP Solutions LLP highlighted on types of patent, need for filing the patent by the academicians. Ms. Bindu also briefed about how to file a patent on the innovative product developed by an individual person
The faculties and students participated in large numbers and interacted with the resource person.
