Orientation Program Organized for the First Year Students

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal organized the Orientation program for the newly admitted B.E. students at the institute premises on Sunday, 07 February 2021.

The major objective of the program was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the B. E. course, to make them aware of the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance of the students hence contributing to the overall growth of a student.

The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, Honorable chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust, Mangaluru and guest of honor Dr. Sushma Akkaraju, who has served many reputed organizations like TCS, IBM and served a reputed Engineering College at Kaladi, Cochin.

Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju in his address showcased the reality of employable graduates passing out every year across the country. He also urged students to decide what they want to become in life now itself and act upon that. He advised students to be deterministic to realize their dreams. While concluding his inaugural address he wished students to become successful in their life and also urged them to come back to their roots to serve the society in the best possible way.

Dr. Sushma Akkaraju, guest of honor for the day advised students with some key tips to become successful in the life.

Principal Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal SMVITM welcomed the gathering and highlighted the major accomplishments of the institution in both academics and extra-curricular fields.

Student Welfare Officer, Dr. C K Manjunath briefed about the academic guidelines and also enlightened students about the various facilities available at SMVITM for the all-round development of the students. He also requested the students to make the best use of it. Second Year student Mr. Aniketh and few parents shared their experience in this occation.

Chief Guest honored Top three CET toppers Mr. Krishnaraj Karanth, Mr. Aditya M Acharya and Mr. Shreyas R who joined SMVITM this academic year.

Shri. Rathnakumar, Secretary, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, expressed his gratitude to the parents and students for having faith and confidence in the institution, and assured that the college and the management is bound to give the best education to the students.

Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sode Shri Vadiraja Matha presided over the function.  In his presidential address he told that value of a person is not only measured by his qualification rather measured by his character. He wished that the students of SMVITM would come out as great citizens blended with qualification and character.

Shri. P. Srinivas Tantry, Vice president of SSVMET, Udupi, Dr. Ganesh Aithal, Vice Principal, SMVITM was also present on the dais. Shri Rajashankar from NMPT, Well-wishers of SMVITM Shri Venkatesh Rao and Shri Ravindra, Deans , HoDs and staff members were present during the event.

Ms. Usha H. Assistant professor, Dept. of Physics introduced Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju and Ms. Bhagyalaxmi Navada, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mathematics introduced Dr. Sushma Akkaraju to the gathering. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Reena Kumari, Head of Dept. of Chemistry. The program started with invocation by Mr. Manjunath S and the Programme was compeered by faculty members of the institution Mr. Sudhir and Ms. Savitha Shenoy.
