ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Women Empowerment Cell in association with National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross Wing of SMVITM and Junior Chamber of India (JCI) Manipal Hill City organized one day workshop on “Women Empowerment” at the institute premises for final year girls on 18 September 2016.

The program was inaugurated by Jc. Chethana Dattathreya, National Trainer and Jayceret Coordinator, JCI Surathkal. In her inaugural address, she said that the education is the key to women empowerment and it will strengthen the participation of women in decision-making which is the most important key to socioeconomic development.

Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal in his presidential address focussed about the importance of such training programs and insisted the students to incorporate these skills in their life. Also he conveyed his gratitude to JCI Manipal Hill City for organizing such a program in the campus for the benefit of the students. Jc. Jagadhish, President, JCI Manipal Hill City, JFD. Mr. Rathnakar Indrali, JFB. B.Dattathreya, Jc. Dheerendra Jain, Mr. Nagaraj Rao – Coordinator, NSS-YRC Unit and Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino – Coordinator WEC of the college were present during the occasion.

Jc. Dheerendra Jain and Jc. Nithyananda Mogera conducted the workshop as resource persons.

Earlier, Ms. Deepika Ballal invoked the blessings of almighty, Mr. Jagadhish- President, JCI Manipal Hill City welcomed the gathering. Ms. Shriraksha introduced the guest, Ms. Nishmitha Y.R proposed vote of thanks. The program was compeered by Ms. Hitha Uchil. 80 students attended the program and they were very appreciative of it.
