Invited talk on “Energy Transition Towards Clean and Green Hydrogen Economy” on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the ISTE Student Chapter and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an invited talk on “Energy Transition Towards Clean and Green Hydrogen Economy” on 15 December 2025 at 10:30 AM, in observance of National Energy Conservation Day.

Dr. S. Shanmuga Priya, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, served as the resource person for the session. The program commenced with a welcome address, followed by an insightful keynote presentation by the speaker.

During the session, Dr. Shanmuga Priya elaborated on global energy challenges, the urgent need to transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, and the growing importance of hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy carrier. She explained various aspects of the green hydrogen ecosystem, including its production, storage, transportation, and applications in industrial and transportation sectors.

The speaker also highlighted India’s initiatives and policies supporting hydrogen energy and emphasized the importance of energy conservation and efficiency in both daily life and industrial practices.
