Installation Ceremony of National Social Scheme

The installation ceremony of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Rotaract unit of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, (SMVITM), Bantakal, was held on 18 September 2019.

Shri Natesh Alva, Head, Department of Kannada, Shri Ramakrishna College, Mangalore was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. During his inaugural address to the gathering, he opined that academic studies are providing theoretical knowledge, whereas units like NSS provide practical knowledge for life which is more important. He also encouraged the students of SMVITM to organize many activities including one week Camp under the aegis of the SMVITM NSS Unit. Shri Rathnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET Udupi presided over the function. In his presidential address he said that all students must have definite and proper goals in the life and need to put in sincere efforts to reach their destination.

Rtr. Prakash Nayak, District Rotaract Representative (DRR), Rotary International District (RID) 3182, Rtn. Jaganath Kote, DRCC, Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, the Principal of SMVITM, Rtn. Malini Shetty, club chairman and Mr. Kishor Kumar Aroor, Institutional NSS –YRC-RC Coordinator were also  delivered their message on the occasion.

HODs and Section heads of various departments, Departmental coordinators and staff members were present during the ceremony.

For the academic year 2019 – 20, Mr. Ashwin and Ms. Vaishnavi Katte was sworn in as the Presidents of NSS and RC respectively , Mr. Aneesh Upadhya and Mr. Bharath Shenoy  as the Secretaries of NSS and RC respectively. The Program was compered by Ms. Ramyashree, Assistant professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
