INSTALLATION CEREMONY OF NATIONAL SOCIAL SCHEME

The installation ceremony of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, (SMVITM), Bantakal, was held on 30 August 2017.

Sri Pundalika Marate, Retired Teacher and Journalist, the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. During his inaugural address to the gathering, he opined that academic studies are providing theoretical knowledge, whereas units like NSS provide practical knowledge for life which is more important. He also encouraged the students of SMVITM to organize many activities under the aegis of the SMVITM NSS Unit. Sri Rathnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET Udupi presided over the function. In his presidential address he said that all students must have definite and proper goals in the life and need to put in sincere efforts to reach their destination.

Dr. B. Radheshyam, HOD of Civil Engineering Department, delivered his message on the occasion. Mr. Kishor Kumar Aroor, Institutional NSS –YRC-RC Coordinator,   Departmental coordinators Mr. Narayan Nayak, Mr. Ranjith Bhat, Mr. B.N. Ramachandra, Mr. Roshan B Kotian and HODs and Section heads of various departments were present during the ceremony.

For the academic year 2017 – 18, Mr. Sandesh Kumar D was sworn in as the President, Ms. Pragathi Nayak as the Secretary, Mr. Roydon Castelino as the Treasurer and Mr. Ashish Prabhu as the Vice President for the Unit.
